MHDHY Campaign

Beginning as a Twitter hashtag (#maybehedoesnthityou), writer and artist Zahira Kelly started the movement as a means for survivors to express their pain. The Maybe He Doesnt Hit You (MHDHY) campaign builds off of Kelly’s initial hashtag movement — serving as a platform for emotional abuse survivors to heal through venting their painful experiences. A full brand identity and set of expressions were developed to put a simple, yet memorable face to the campaign. This campaign is solely driven by heartfelt experiences that are important for survivors to see and hear. TheMHDHY website serves as a web archive, where users can submit anonymous postcards of their experiences using the tagline. Overall, the campaign aims to educate people about emotional abuse, and how its effects are as damaging and destructive as any other form of violence.
